Our Two-Year “No Questions Asked” Refund Policy:
Paying in advance for driving lessons shouldn’t feel risky. Our high rate of customer satisfaction lets us make a promise that many driving schools don’t: if plans change, the unused part of a payment can be refunded.
For two full years after each payment, the person who paid can request a refund of the unused amount—no arguments, no explanation required, and no processing fee. As lessons are taken, their value is deducted from that amount. Each payment gets its own two-year refund period. Making another payment starts a refund period for the new payment, but it doesn’t restart the period for any earlier payment.
The remaining value of a payment doesn’t disappear after its two-year refund period ends. It stays on the account as dollar-for-dollar credit toward driving lessons and never expires. Because the credit is used at current prices, an additional payment may be needed if prices have increased.
Unused lesson credit may be transferred to another student in the same household. A transfer doesn’t extend any refund period, and the right to a refund stays with the person who made the payment.
Please allow four business days for us to issue a refund by check or as a credit to your card. Online course purchases are non-refundable because access is provided immediately.
Our “On-Time Guarantee”:
We all know that traffic happens and cars sometimes break down. We do our best to plan for traffic, but if an instructor expects to be more than 5 minutes late, they will usually call to keep you informed.
But here’s our guarantee: We know you may have plans after the lesson, and a late start can throw off the rest of your day. So if we’re more than 20 minutes late and the lesson no longer works with your schedule, you may cancel it—and WE’LL PAY YOU $40! This applies even when the delay is outside our control. The only exception is an “act of God or government” affecting a large portion of our service area.
Simply call the office and tell us the late start no longer works with your schedule. We’ll notify the instructor and happily send you a check for $40. If there is a misunderstanding about the appointment time, we may first review the recording of the call during which the appointment was scheduled.
In rare instances, we may cancel a scheduled appointment in advance. If this happens, we will always do whatever it takes to make sure you get a replacement appointment promptly. (We may call in an off-duty instructor, perhaps the owner.) However, if this happens with less than 24 hours’ notice, we’ll still send you a $40 check, even if your replacement appointment happens the very next day.
If You Need to Cancel an Appointment:
We know you have good reasons if you need to cancel or reschedule. It’s never a problem to cancel an appointment, but… Instructors must be paid for time they have made themselves available. Therefore, if you must cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the fee for holding the unused time slot is $40. We believe this is the lowest late-cancel fee among driving schools in the Sacramento area. As you see above in our “On-Time Guarantee”, we hold ourselves to the same standard. To cancel, please call our staff or leave a voicemail at (916)381-3211 anytime, seven days a week. A voicemail is sufficient to cancel, but please listen to your recording to confirm it was clear before you hang up.
If You Need to Change Your Pick-up or Drop-Off Location:
If you wish to change the pick-up or drop-off location for an appointment, please call us in advance! It’s usually not a problem if the new location is within our service area, but when your appointment was originally scheduled, we checked the travel time to and from other students’ appointments. We may not be able to accommodate the change unless we shorten the length of your appointment. (All teens must receive at least 6 hours of instruction.)
What to Expect From Driving Lessons:
Driving instruction is tailored to each student. No amount of driving instruction can guarantee that the student will be prepared for every driving situation, pass a driving test, or receive a license.
When We May Discontinue Services:
West Point Driving School may elect to discontinue services when we reasonably determine that continued instruction would be unsafe, unlikely to benefit the student, seriously disruptive, or otherwise impractical. This may include situations in which a student or family member refuses to follow reasonable safety requirements or behaves abusively toward staff.
Special Service Fees:
Fees may change from time to time; current fees are posted here.
$40…….Holding an appointment which is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice
$10…….Replacing a lost or damaged DMV certificate (This fee may be waived once.)
